Wat Kamphaeng
Laeng is located in Amphoe Muang,
Petchaburi Province. It
was originally a Khmer place of worship, and
converted to a Buddhist temple later.
Wat
Kamphaeng Laeng was named Kamphaeng
Laeng because the wall of temple was built
with laterite. (Kamphaeng means wall, and
Laeng is a short term of Sila-Lang, which
means laterite.)
The
outlook of the temple has not much changed because
of the existence of sandstone walls and 4 Khmer
style pagodas. |
