Church in plants at
Wat Bang Kung
UNSEEN THAILAND
Khai Bang Kung is a former navy fort which is an important
historical place. There is a temple
in the centre of the base so that the soldiers could go to pray.
After being abandoned for almost
200 years, a Boy Scout camp was built at the site in 1967, and a
shrine commemorating King Taksin was built.
Khai Bang Kung is famous because of the old sanctuary where
Luang Phor Dum (image of Buddha) is located.

Furthermore, the special thing of this temple is there is a
sanctuary which its structure cannot be seen because it is covered
by big trees. It is only the door and the windows of the sanctuary
that can be seen. The
Mae Klong River flows in front of the temple.
In the river, it is a home to many big fish so that
the area is called Wang Matcha or Fish Castle. Tourists can feed
the fish as well.
