River rafting at Te Lor su
The river rafting at Um-Pung
Today we would like introduce
you another tourist activity. It
is the river rafting from Um-Pung
to visit the Thee Lor Sue
waterfall where full of the
beautiful natures and many
tourists want to go. You can go
to the Thee Lor Su waterfall by
car and river rafting but in the
rainy season you can go there by
the river rafting only, that
take about 2 hours. It is a nice
traveling because you will
through and see many of the
beautiful natures.
The river rafting has many
levels (information click here)
and at the Um-Pung to the Thee
Lor Su waterfall is only the
level 1 to level 2 that is not
too dangerous for rafting.
The river rafting in the
present, they use the rubber
boat that is safer than the
bamboo raft which used in the
past or about 15 20 years ago.
Besides, the rubber boat is more
durable and do not break easily
too.
For today, we raft in the Mae
Klong creek which is the
beginning of the Mae Klong
River. This creek runs pass the
forests and many cataracts
and ends at the
Tham Nam Mud (the ducked water
cave). This ducked water emerges
and flows to Sangkhlaburi
District through the dam, Khao
Laem. Then released from the dam
into the
Khwae
Noi
River and combined with the
Khwae Yai River at Kanchanaburi
province, which we call Mae
Klong River and flows into the
Gulf of Thailand at last.
On the way of rafting,
you will see many beautiful
waterfalls, forests and
cataracts such as the Mo Ki Do,
Um-Pung forest which full of the
big trees.
Besides, there are the steep
cliffs along the both sides of
the river that named the blood
cliff because it has the red
minerals which like the blood
leaking out from the cliff. In
the past, many animals came to
eat and the people also used it
as a medicine but nowadays the
blood cliff is only a history
name.
When we arrived at the
point where we must walk about
10 km. to the Thee Lor Su
waterfall, we have lunch
together before go there.
