This
park is situated at Srisatchanalai village
on the area called that Kaeng-luang this
Srisatnalai historical park covers the area
of Srisatchanalai, Sarvichit, Nong-or and
Thar-chai villages. For Srisatchanalai, the
ancient district is regarded as the centre
located at Phra Prang village which has
totally area 45.14 kilometers.
Originally, on this area called that Mueng
Chalieng. Then it was changed to be
Srisatchanalai in the period of the king
Phra Luang dynasty took over Krungsukhothai
kingdom and he established the new district
in order for being administrative centre
instead of Chalieng district on the area of
Historical Srisatchanalai Park. There are a
great deal of archaeological places and old
materials that should be preserved to be the
great worth property of our nation and it is
also a place for studying of students and
general people who are interested for
learning.

The ancient
pagoda |
The Srisatchanalai Historical Park opens for
visitors from 08:00 am-17:00 pm. The
entrance fee is 10 baht for Thais and 40
baht for foreigners or the tourists can buy
package ticket is 30 baht for Thais and 150
baht for foreign visitors. For visitor who
would like taking your own cars to the park,
you will have to pay more for fee but the
tourists who want to take the tram tour
around the park, just pay only 10 baht per
person. Besides, if you would like to ride a
bicycle, at here, they have the bicycles for
rent too.
Phra
Srirattanamahathat pemple or Wat
Phraboromathat Meungchalieng or Wat Phra
Prang, another name is inner the
Meungchalieng wall on the east which is far
way about two kilometers from Meung
Srisatchanalai wall. It is a group of the
big archaeological places and is also the
royal temple. There are important
archaeological places within monastery such
as: - Buddha image (giving a sermon posture)
made of stone and its character is like
Ayutthayas architecture. In front of Main
Hall, within there is a Buddha image (overcoming
the devils posture) placed inside and on the
right hand side, there is a Buddha image
that is mould from cement, its character is
so beautiful. Temples wall is constructed
by stone which is 60 meters large and 60
meters long.

Above
the windows is like the spire of roof
and more above is a statue like the face
of the Phra-bodhisat-avalokitesuarn,
Moutao pagoda is behind the glass wall,
its character is similar to Mons pagoda
style, found in B.E. 2535. At the back
of Moutao pagoda is originally the area
of four posture Buddha images, later it
was repaired, within there are standing-Buddha
images.
A two-brother Main Hall on the
left had side was constructed by the
stone and the two Buddha statues
standing on the throne. Having
discovered on archaeology found that
this Vihara was established on the area
of the old ruined-building constructed
by bricks and on the right side of it
discovered the Buddhas foot-step.
There is
an Ordination Hall situated at the front
of Vihara which is now restored a new
one by taking over the original one.

Changlom
monastery is the most important one within
the district wall of Srisatchanalai which is
located nearly in the centre of district. At
the south of Phanoupleung Mountain, there is
a bell-pagoda or Lanka style placed inside
the square glass wall. Each floor of the
pagoda, there are the 39 elephant statues
standing and turn their faces out from the
pagoda.
The elephant
statues that were decorated on the four
directions of Pagoda they are big and so
beautiful decorated elephant statues. And in
front of pagoda, there is sitting meditation
Buddha images, but they were destroyed,
there is only one left on the north where
the bell-pagoda situated up which decorated
by disciple statues of the Buddha about 17
statues.

Seven-queue
pagoda temple located in front of Changlom
temple, it is more beautiful than others in
Sukhaothai district because there are a lot
of style pagodas that is the real art of
Sukhothai and it is also mixed arts between
Srivichai and Sukhaothai. Seven-queue pagoda
there is a big pagoda in the center which is
similar to blooming-lotus located at the
back of Vihara. Besides, there are more than
33 pagodas.

The art of seven-queue pagoda
temple was influenced from Lanka and
Pukarm so that it is called seven-queue
pagoda temple because they discovered a
lot of queues of pagoda within the
temple.
Nangpaya temple situated near to
district wall of Srisatchanalai, on the
south there is a style Lanka pagoda, it
is so nice arts.

Travelling to visit historical park
of Srisatchanalai, if you are from Sukhothai
disrtrict way you can use the highway road
number:101 Sukhaothai- Savankalok-Srisatchanalai
until km 17-19, turn left and across the
bridge of Yom river, there is a junction on
the right to the park about 1.5 kilometers
or if you take buses there are Sukhaothai-Srisatchnalai
buses depart from the local market bus
station to the park every day and you can
also use the road from Savankalok district
to the highway road number: 1201 up to the
old district, at there, there is a bridge
crossing onto Yom river and turn left to
park about 2 kilometers.
