Punjim is one of the traditional restaurants in
Chantaburi, serving Thais, E- san (north eastern style) and
Vietnam cuisine. E-san dish is very popular among Thais
especially spicy papaya salad which were uncertain about its
origin. Preparation made by mixed of green papaya, small round
eggplant, roasted peanut, dried shrimp, chili and garlic in a
mortar. Seasoning with coconut sugar, fish sauce, fermented crab
and fermented fish make it sour, hot and a bit salty. Eating
with sticky rice, grilled chicken and fresh vegetable could be
more delicious.

The owner, khun Lalana, told us that
even though it opened 10 years ago but this place has been through
many tough times when the rivers over flood because of the
location. But she didnt give up. The restaurant keeps running for
everyone to visit.
