Phu Ruea is another Amphoe that is filled with
interesting tourist attractions. It is one of
the most suitable areas in Thailand for growing
cold weather flowers.
For this trip, we started off at
the Pla Ba Waterwall. On top of the waterfall,
there is a rock area filled with various sizes
of holes. They can be seen only in dry season.
After that, we headed to Songkon
Waterfall located in the middle of nature. The
water is very clear. Tourists should not miss it!
After visiting the Songkon
Waterfall, we went onto see cold weather flowers
at Agricultural Research and Development Centre.
It is believed to be the coldest point in the
country. With an area of 5,000 rai, it is
surrounded beautifully by high mountains. The
weather is cold throughout the year.
The cold weather flower plot is
the outstanding point of the centre as it
contains many types of stunning cold weather
flowers.
Moreover, the centre provides
convenient accommodation and a site for tourists
to camp out.
