Since Phu Ruea National Park is
located on a high mountain, the climate is cool
through the whole year.
It is also considered as the coolest national
park of Thailand. It is especially cool during
winter with the dewdrops at the top of the grass
becoming frost, called in local language as Mae
Khaning.
Furthermore, there are various kinds of forests
such as mixed forest, dry dipterocarp forest,
tropical evergreen forest, and pine forest.
Besides, the park is home to numerous wildlife
species including deer, bears, monkeys,
squirrels, rabbits, turtles, and a large number
of birds.
