Loy Krathong Sawan at Phra Thud Doi Kongmu
Moohin.com will bring you to Loy
Krathong Sawan at Phra Thud Doi Kongmu, Mae Hongsorn. It is one and
only place since BE 2403, because Phra Thud Doi Kongmu is very
important place for Mae Hongsorn. The celebration happens once a
year during the full moon of the twelfth month lunar calendar
lasting for 5 days.

Phra Thud Doi Kongmu was know as
Wat Pry Don meaning the temple at the end of the mountain. Which it
is at the west of Mae Hongsorn, and a good sight to see the sun set.
The temple has 2 pagodas, the small and the big ones.
The
way to this temple is windy road and high up hill for 5 km., and it
is advisable to take local taxi to the temple than to drive up .
During the season, the temple would make krathong and the balloon to
fly the balloon up to the sky and the little candle on the krathong
to light the sky.
It is a good
old culture on this city that they have been practicing and keep the
tradition for a long time to now.
