Kaeng Sopha Waterfall Nation Park


            Entrance to national park for watching Kaeng Sopha waterfall that is famous of Muang Phisanulok.

            Phisanulok province has a lot of abounding nature in southern of north which have thung salaeng luang national park. Kaeng Sopha waterfall is the high waterfall 70 meter.

            Thung salaeng luang national park has 789,000 rai or 1,262.55 square kilometers which covered wang thong nakorn Thai district of phisanulok province lom sak district chun kaen district muang and khoa kor district of Phechaboon  province. On 27 may 2518 B.C thung salaeng regarded as national park 3 level of Thailand.

            Thung salaeng luang national park have a lot of natural place for visiting as thung salaeng luang thung nang phanna thung non sorn kaeng wang nam ten tham phra wangdaeng namtok srisirth.

            Each place is section for studying about natures arwhich are beautiful nature for every season. But traveling for us will to visit Kaeng Sopha waterfall which is a beautiful waterfall in this park.

            Kaeng Sopha waterfall before called Namtok Kaeng Chan daiyan or Ban Daiyan according to the waterfall down it has 3 stairs.  On 2503 B.C this area was constructed as tourist place that have to cut cross road Phisanulok Lomsak for entrance the waterfall. Sopha is name of chief communce at that time so that this waterfall was changed as kaeng Sopha waterfall until present. Traveling to visit waterfall from car park have to walk into thung salaeng luang park about 200 meters. When we arrived the park the we have good feeling because this place have fresh air cold. We can take a rest for taking fresh air. Inside the park have toilet shop for sale goods like food drinking etc.king etc.

            Kaeng Sopha waterfall located in Thung Saeng Luang national park at nakor Thai Wang Thong disrich of Phisanulok provice, Lomsak Road (highway12) kilometer 71-72.Open 8:00am-17:30pm everyday. You need to get more information please.

            Coming to visit Kaeng Sopha waterfall not difficult because located nearby lomsak roadit has two ways if we transport from phechbun provice we usa highway 21 to lomsak about 13 kilometers. If we transport from Phisanulok provice we use highway 12 to lomsak road 71-1-72 we will see the entrance Thung Salaeng Luang national park.

Location : Amphoe Wang Thong

            Against a backdrop of high mountain ranges is the Savannah-type grassland of Thung Salaeng Luang. Covering an area of 16 square kilometres, the park is naturally endowed with pine trees and wild flowers which blossom in virgin jungles. The parks mountain ranges are watersheds of several streams which are a source of the famous Maenam Nan. Its area spreads across Phitsanulok and Kaeng Jed-kwae National Park is situated in an approximately area of 287 square kilometers or 179,375 rai, covering the areas of Kaeng Jed-kwae Forest Park, Kwae-noi National Conserved Forest (Ministerial Regulations No. 704, B.E. 2517) in Tambol Ban-yang, Tambol Kan-chong of Wat-bod District, Pitsanulok Province, Suan-miang National Conserved Forest (Ministerial Regulations No. 1158, B.E. 2529) in Tambol Suan-miang of Charttrakarn District, Pitsanulok Province, Khao-krayang National Conserved Forest (Ministerial Regulations No. 977, B.E. 2525) in Tambol Nhong-krayang, Tambol Ban-yaeng of Nakhon-Thai District, Tambol Ban-klang, Tambol Kaeng-sopa of Wang-thong District, Pitsanulok Province.

Topography

            The geographical features of the National Park consist of long mountains and virgin forests.

Flora and Fauna

            There are various kinds of forests within the areas of the National Park, including mixed deciduous forests, deciduous forest, Hill evergreen forests, dry evergreen forests. Major plants, which are of great economic value, include teaks, Afzelia xylocarpa Roxb., Xylia xylocarpa (Deang), Pterocarpus macrocarpus (Pradoo), rubber trees, etc. Wild animals found in the National Park include Muntiacus Muntjak, wild boars, monkeys, langur, masked palm civets, porcupines, rabbits, birds, snakes, monitor lizards, and fish.Phetchabun provinces.
