Pai has a long history as people lived here for a thousand year. A Historical Bridge was built by the Japanese army during the WW II, it is the bridge to the city. This bridge was built across Pai river as the was to Burma. The bridge was used by all people, until Pai become the tourist attraction and many pour in the city and getting crowded.

   

          Since this old bridge is aging to carry the heavy traffic of the modern day, the new bridge is built parallel to the old bridge which now is just the history for taking pictures.

          This bridge was the gate way from Chiang Mai to Pai, so the historical bridge remain after many decades enduring the time and weather.
