Wonderful rock, Hin Chang Si at Nam Pong River

will travel to visit and learn together at Khon Kaen
Province especially, at
Hin Chang Si that is
a big rock is among the many rocks. It looks like a shelter
cliff that can use to shield the sunlight and rain. The
people believe that there were the elephants came to stay
here and rubbed with the stone so it is called, Hin Chang Si
(the rock rubbed by the elephant).

Nam Pong is the name of the river and the name of Dam that is Nam Pong Dam or another name is Ubonrat Dam that built across the Nam Pong River.
Besides, it is also the name of a National Park where is an attraction in Khon Kaen too.
The Nam Pong National Park is the area of the river source of Chi River, Nam Pong River and Nam Chern River. The National Park area is 123,125 rai, and covers five districts in Khon Kaen such as Ubolratana, Ban Fang, Nong Rua, Manchakhiri and Khok Pho Chai district.
Nam Pong National Park is located beside the Ubolratana or Nam Pong Dam so we can see the nice scenery, the life of fishermen and the beautiful sunset clearly.
On the hilltop, there are many natural attractions namely the Hin Kon Thunk, Kham Phon,Palan Chad, Hin Chang Si and Pha Sawan.
Phalan Chad is a large stone on the wide ridge and there are many Chad trees, the native plants in the area that is a very beautiful view point too.
Traveling to Hin Chang Si by the four-wheel vehicle starts from the Nam Pong National Park to Ban Pue and drives along the main road that is the convenient road. Then it begins to be high and steep road to the mountain.
The side of the road to Hin Chang Si has many of the big rocks that are strange and beautiful.
There is a walking path to the rock that can see the beautiful view of the Nam Pong Dam, forest and grass field.
On the hilltop, we can see
many mountains namely the Phu Wiang, Phu Kao and others and in the
evening, we can see the sun set that is a nice atmosphere.
The highlights of Hin
Chang Si are the water under the hollow rock and the natural
saltlick.
Besides, there are the
strange shape of stones that are the natural phenomenon such as the
Hin Kon Tunk, Hin Kham Phon and the view point of Pha Swan.
Traveling:
From Khon Kaen - Chum Phae and turn right to Ban Phue at the 30th km. Then travel about 19 km along the Ror Phor Chor road no. 3034 to the Nam Pong National Park.
