From Fang Hot spring to Doi Pahom Pok.
There are three famous
highlands in Thailand with the
height above 2,000 meters above sea
level.Doi Intanond 2.565 meters
above sea level;. next is Doi Pahom
Pok with the height of 2 ,285 and
Doi Chiangdao is 2,225 above sea
level.

Today, we have discovered
another tourist attraction -
National Park Doi Pahom Pok
which is still very fertile with
beautiful national environment
and scenery suitable for nature
study. Here you can also find
rare species of butterflies and
birds, also waterfalls, deep in
the jungle.

There
is a famous hot spring called Fang
Hot Spring with the temperature of
90 to 130 degrees Celsius; hot
enough to boil eggs.

The steam from this hot
spring has been developed to
generate power to used in the local
community here.

Tourist should visit Doi
Pahom Pok which stands at the height
2,285 meters above sea level to
appreciate the cold weather and the
natural environment and lush green
forest in the area.

You
should contact Mae Fang National
Park Authority for travel
information, and available
facilities prior to the trips.
Leaving the National Park
Office to Fang, you will turn left
at a city by pass, and after 3.5
kilometers to Huey Mayom, driving up
on a gravel road passing through
the green forest with a scenic view
around you, makes the trips very
enjoyable. Especially in the
evening you can enjoy the lovely
sunset scenery.

Finally we
are at our quarter at Doi Kiew Lom, the
highest peak at the Doi Pahom Pok
National Park.

The weather
got very cold after sunset and we know
there will be a morning magnificent
sight of the golden sun rising through
the foggy sky with dew drops everywhere
in the lush green jungle.

breakfast, we all walked through deep
forest along the steep mountain side to
Doi Pahom Pok. Along the steep hill
side we still can see the green forest
along the way. Such a beautiful natural
environment.
For the natural environmental
tour of highlands over 2,000 meters is
quite an experience where one would
witness the lush green forest with
different species of wild flowers ,
animals and insects.

How to get there
We
will use highway 107 from Chiang Mai
to Fang and then turn on to Fang
Mon Puen Road to about 3 kilometers,
then turn right to RDP Road 4054 to
Ban Pong Nam Ron, in order to go to
Ban Pahompok National Part for
another 8 kilometers.
A 4
WD vehicle is recommended for the
visitors.
This
area is well known for the rare
