At Doi Chiang – Dow, there are rate animals, chamois and mountain deer.

Also, there are no facilities and no water. We employ a porter carrying of water for us.  One porter can carry only 20 liters of water.

The weather of the cold season is very fresh.  The way up to the mountain is comfortable.  We see the mixed forest in front of our eye – sight.  Hill tribe Lisu used to live at the foot of  Doi Sam-Phi-Nong.  This is the rest point of the trip.  This area is in the good location to see the mountains around clearly.

There are 2 kinds of birds eating honey from flowers, one is blue, and the other is green.

 Blue neck birds and green birds are eating honey from Sakula flowers.

 Dong-Noi area is good to watch birds and flowers.

 We traveled through Kiew-Pa-Kha and Doi-Yod-Piramit.

 We were tried of walking for hours.  Then, we had to rest many times.

  We hoped that we reach Ang-Sa-Llung before dark.

 Doi Chiang Dow is visible from afar.  There are 3 mountains, Doi Laung Chiang-Doun.  Doi Kiew Lom and Doi Neun or Doi Piramit.

            Doi Nork is at the end of the horse shoe in the north Doi Sam-Phi-Nong and Doi Luang are at the end of the horse shoe in the south.

            These views of mountains which are on Doi Chiang Yai mountain range (massif) are interesting to study before going up to Doi Chiang Dow.

            We walked to Dong- Yen forest, and then a lot of beautiful plants are in front of us. We know that we walk near our room before dark.

            The color of the sky is beautiful at sunset.  The weather started to cool.  The temperature was 5 degrees.  We thought the temperature would be lower.

           We wore overcoat, gloves, socks, thick hats.

           The weather was very cold at night.  We hope to see freezing dew early in the morntng.

           From Doi Chiang Dow, we saw Doi Sam-Phi-Nong on the left and Doi Piramit on the right.  The fog was not thick.

           The sky was indigo blue in the morning.  We saw some rate plants here.

           There is  the very beautiful mountain scenery.

           We had our breakfast and then we saw a lot of birds there

           During the day we walked to Kiew-Lom.  We saw some beautiful rate flowers.

           Also, there is many kinds of beautiful flowers on San Doi-Kiaw-Lom.

           The evening comes with the colorful sky.  The sun horizon and the dark come quickly.

           The end of the day comes.  We hope to see the new dawn tomorrow.  Then, we will go back the city.

           Getting this travel is to know natural plants and topography of Doi Chiang Dow.

Route
The comfortable way is the high way no.107  (Chiang Mai – Fang)  at 71 – 72 kilometers before Chiang Dow District  We park cars at Den Yaa-khat, then, walk to Doi Luang Chiang -Dow.

Camping point
There are many places to camp, Den yak hat center, Dong tho, Dong Noi, Dong Yen, and Ang –Sa-Lung .

Preparation of water
You should prepare water enough for all of you, during the time staying there.

 

Food
You should prepare food which is easy to cook and carry; also you should aware to save water during the time you are in the mountains.

Cloth
You should prepare thick cloths, coats, gloves, socks, sleeping- bags, blankets and a tent.

Stove – Torch
You should prepare a torch for each one.  You may have a gas- match and a gas-stove.

Contact
You should ask for permission at Chiang Dow Wild life Sanctuary, Chiang Dow District, Chiang Mai.  Then, contact two check points, Mae Taman and Den-Yaa-Khat.
