Doi inthanon is Thailand’s highest mountain, 2.599 meters above sea level.  It is part of Himalayas, which ranges across Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar and ends at northern Thailand.

          Complex mountain ranges and mild climate characterize an area with a moist and dense forest.  This forest the source of important tributaries of the  Maeping river.        

 Meo and  Karen hill tribes  inhabit the park.

There are many attractive waterfalls and capes in the park, such as Namtok Huey  Sar Luang, Namtok Mae Klang, Namtok Wachirathan, Namtok Siriphumi, etc.

            Inthanon park is situated in the district of Chomtong, Sanpartong and Maecham.  Total area is 301.500 rais.  It was declared as National Park on June 13 B.C 2521 with the distant of approximately 106 kilometers from Chiang Mai city.

 The climate is cool all year round and very cold in December ,January period.  The temperature can drop down to  zero Celsius .

             This trip we will enjoy the visit to the Wachirathan.  The waterfall is at the height of about 750 meters.  Besides the waterfalls which we all enjoyed very much, we also have wonderful experience with our camping expeditions on the highest peak of the park with stunning unending mountain view over looking  the flowers, orchids of the Royal Irrigation Projects below.

                Up on the Inthanon we also have Royal Shrine Pramahatat Nopmaetineedol and Pramahatat Nopadolpumeesiri. Built in memorial of Sixty Birthday in the year  B.C 2530 for king and B.C 2535 for queen .

             You can travel to Doi Inthanon on the 108 highway Chiang Mai – Chomtong ,turn right on the k.m. 57 ,then  take a right turn to highway 1009 on Chomton-Inthanon road at a distance of 48 kilometer.

Below you will see Royal Project, with lots of  vegetables grown  there.	Blankets are really needed.
