Chanthaburi province, which is renowned for pork curry

Guttiferae
is the popular menu among the eastern from Rayong,
Chanthaburi, Trat. But the most excellent and
concentrated curry is only in Chanthaburi. The olds said
that this recipe has created for hundred years, not
only being as the top menu in merit-making festival,
marriage and every festivals, but it also spent really
long time to cook it until they got the ultimately
delicious pork curry. At Chanthara restaurant, aunties
brought this recipe and method from her forefathers,
it’s so called the ancient Chan city style of original

tasty with sweet, salty and little sour, especially
having it with warm cooked-rice.

The secret of this pork curry is aunties Phichit
‘s volition and concern because this recipe take over-night
to make it special, Chef need to be patient, that’s why
Chanthara Restaurant has to simmer all curry powder,
pork and
Guttiferae
all day, then leave it about a night. So it comes to be
the appetizing pork curry.
Before serving, they will warm it one more time.
This step will make the curry more thick and tasty.
Moreover, the pork, used in this recipe, is the three-layered
pork meat which comes from rump part. So it is not too
soft but it is well-gooey. About curry powder, it must
in enough amounts for volume of curry. Talking about
Guttiferae
leaf, it has not to be too green and too old, that’s
sour taste of its leaf. Aunties recommended that it’s
important secret that it has to be left over-night,
hence it will be more yum.

Guttiferae
leaves in your area, you could imagine to the plant like
evergreen tree, up to 20 m tall. . Its
fruits are
subglobose, 2.5-6 cm, green when young, dull orange or
yellow at maturity with 5-8 shallow grooves at least
near the top. Tip sunken with small black persistent
calyx, 4-8 segments. This tree is common in most lowland
forest types. It is found in low sand dune forest behind
the beach, in tropical evergreen forest, or in dry
deciduous forest throughout the country. This tree is
occasionally grown in backyard garden for its edible
young leaves.

decadent dessert for any fruit lover that just
cannot be missed.
