Bueng Chawak is believed to be the 1st
underwater world in Thailand.
It is developed under the project to celebrate His Majesty the King
Bhumibol Adulyadej's on his 50th Year Accession to the Throne.
Bueng Chawak is a freshwater lake filled with pink and white
lotuses. In the past, it used to be a part of the Tha Chin River.
The lake and surrounding areas have Wildlife Extension Center, a
garden of indigenous vegetables, and an exhibition center for
aquatic animals.
There is a resort in Bueng Chawak as well.
The Freshwater Crocodile Pond is located nearby the aquarium. It
houses about 60 Siamese crocodiles of 1.5-4.0 metres.
